CSA Preface

This is the third edition of CSA C60871-2, Shunt capacitors for a.c. power systems having a rated voltage above 1 000 V - Part 2: Endurance testing , which is an adoption, with Canadian deviations, of the identically titled IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Technical Specification 60871-2 (third edition, 2014-11). 

It supersedes the previous edition published in 2003 as CAN/CSA-C60871-2 (adopted IEC TS 60871-2:1999). For brevity, this Standard will be referred to as "CSA C60871-2" throughout. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. 

Scope 

This part of IEC 60871, which is a technical specification, applies to capacitors according to IEC 60871-1 and gives the requirements for ageing tests of these capacitors.
